Last Saturday, September 28th, The Foxy Shoppe held a special event to promote their new Fall stock and to announce new products and services coming to the store. The Shoppe now features Whipped Cosmetics (locally homemade soaps and bath products), The Polished Pinup Parlour (manicure and lash extension services), Dano Tanaka Illustrator (pinup photography studio) as well as the new Vintage by Drakestail Jewellery! It was great to see so many great people bringing their passions together to collaborate on such a fun and exciting event.
The Foxy Shoppe was buzzing with energy and excitement last Saturday and the response to our new line was fantastic. I was even lucky enough to get a fancy picture in front of the familiar Foxy Shoppe pink wall, wearing a dress from the Shoppe, photographed by Dano Tanaka!
Our first design set for Vintage is available in 5 colours (white, black, light gold, lavender and rosaline – pictured below), made of 8 mm Swarovski pearls and high-quality silver-filled findings, with our signature stardust beads. Our first sets have been such a success that we’re already planning our next vintage-inspired pieces.
For now, Vintage by Drakestail Jewellery is exclusive to The Foxy Shoppe. Contact them to order yours or stop by to see their fabulous shop. They will be available in our Etsy store in late October, and we may soon have news about our next retail location. Stay tuned for more!
Robyn and I are very happy to officially announce that, as of next week, our new vintage inspired line, Vintage by Drakestail Jewellery, will be available at The Foxy Shoppe in Winnipeg, Manitoba!
This is the first time our jewellery is available in a physical store and we couldn’t be happier. The Foxy Shoppe is an upscale pin-up/retro boutique and we feel our vintage inspired line will fit right in there.
As we promised last month, our vintage inspired line is almost ready! We will be sharing details in an official announcement the week of September 23rd but here is a teaser just to keep you interested!
I’ve been using Etsy for around a year and a half, and have been enjoying playing around with some of its features. There’s a great one called Treasuries, where users can collect images of favourite items and show off these collections to the Etsy community. Treasuries can be created by anyone – shoppers, sellers, and general Etsy fans alike. Anyone with an Etsy account can create them.
Treasuries will usually have a theme. Some will revolve around items of a certain colour. Others will be seasonal, showing Christmas- or Valentine’s-themed items. Still others involve themes like movies, or nature, or a time period. The Etsy user collects up to 16 different items to fit the theme. Add a great title, a description, and some tags, and you’re officially the curator of a treasury!
Curating (Etsy’s word for making a treasury) is a lot of fun, and a great excuse to window-shop and see what’s available on the site. I’ve found plenty of great vintage and handmade items while hunting for things to include in my lists, and I’ve even ended up making a few purchases, too. I particularly enjoy the challenge of coming up with unique and unusual themes.
