So, part of this Challenge was to go back and use beads that I’ve been hanging onto for a long time. In today’s project, I’ve definitely accomplished that. These beautiful gold freshwater pearls were one of the very first strings of beads that I ever bought. Same with these garnet chips. I’ve had them for probably seven years! I’ve used a lot of both over time, but the remainders have still been hanging around for a while. I wanted to make a simple multi-strand necklace, so I went for this one. It’s pretty unstructured, the pearls are added in at random, and between that and the random shapes of the garnet chips, it’s very organic-looking. This will be an eye-catching necklace to wear! I twisted the three strands together for the photo, but it also looks terrific with them untwisted as well.
