Arts in the Park 2015

I love trying new things, and this past Sunday I had the opportunity to try a new show!

Arts in the Park is put on by the Stittsville Village Association. It’s an annual event, showcasing artists, artisans, and authors, and also includes a few local food vendors.

This was my first year participating. I arrived early, and picked out a shady spot under a lovely maple tree. There were loads of visitors long before the show even started, as well as lots of joggers and cyclists passing through the park. There was a light breeze, some light clouds that burned away to reveal a blue sky by the end of the afternoon, and a fantastic, relaxed atmosphere.

My neighbours were great company, our visitors were lovely to chat with, and I had a wonderful time. I was two spaces away from an Asian taco cart.  The smell was irresistible, and they were absolutely delicious.  That was a fantastic coincidence!!  Arts in the Park is on my list of shows to apply for again next year!

Now that my spring shows are out of the way, I’ll be turning my focus back to all our dear fans online. Expect to see some new goodies on Etsy, and of course check back for new articles, information, and fun.

Arts in the Park 2015, and catching up

I’ve had a great spring so far, with two Drakestail events already done and a third coming up soon.

First, we kicked off spring with MAC Fair: Bloom edition. MAC Fair is a pleasure to attend. It’s incredibly well organized, there’s always a great mix of vendors, and a great atmosphere. I never come away empty-handed, either.

This past Sunday was Ravenswing, which is hands down my favourite outdoor show. The weather was glorious, which makes a great show even better! I didn’t have much of an opportunity to walk around this time, but I was near the music tent and got treated to some great music and entertainment.

Coming up next, on Sunday, June 7th, will be Arts in the Park. This is an established show but it will be my first time participating. It will be an outdoor show, featuring more than 70 professional and amateur artists, writers, culinary specialists, musicians, and other creators. They also host a variety of performances, special activities for kids, and fundraising snack sales. There will definitely be something for everyone! Arts in the Park 2015 takes place at Village Square Park, in Stittsville, in the west end of Ottawa, from noon until 5pm. Come join me and explore this fun show!
