100 Day Challenge: Day 71. Blue shell stick bracelet.

Is it Day 71 already?  It’s hard to believe that there’s less than a month left until I reach day 100.

Today’s project is a bracelet using some shell stick beads.  I got them in a pack a few years ago, and loved them for their irregular, organic shape.  I’ve used other shell stick beads to make similar bracelets to this one, and enjoy the design enough to want to do it again.  The shell sticks are drilled in two places, so I ran two strands of beading wire through them, and spaced them apart with tiny purple seed beads.  Since this design can be tricky to put on, I went with a super strong (and I do mean strong!) magnetic clasp.  Easy to put on and take of by yourself.

100 Day Challenge: Day 69. Red pearl and shell earrings

I’ve had both of these beads for quite some time.  The white shell hearts came in a pack of maybe a dozen, and they have a nice shimmer to them which really doesn’t come through in the photo.  I bought the red pearls a few years ago when I was creating a set of necklaces themed on desserts.  🙂  Pearls and shell seemed to go nicely together, so they became these earrings.

100 Day Challenge: Day 68. Faceted red glass bead earrings.

I don’t even remember when I bought these beads, but they came from a local store that doesn’t really sell beads anymore.  Lucky for me, I stocked up before their stock dwindled, and these were one of my finds.  I have some left over, but for now I’ve turned two of them into a pair of earrings.

100 Day Challenge: Day 66. Teal and gold glass fringe bracelet

I love when I rediscover beads that I’ve had for ages and ages.  The glass beads I’ve used in today’s project have been in my stash for years.  I got them locally in the first year that I started beading, drawn to the mottled teal colour and the splashes of gold.  I used them in earrings and a bracelet, and they both sold ages ago.  I had a handful of the beads left over, and I didn’t have any ideas on how I wanted to use them.  So, they hung out in an organizer, looking awesome and waiting to be used.

I decided to make a bracelet with them, so I put them on a bunch of head pins and turned them into a fringe on a chain, like a charm bracelet.  They’re swingy and fun, and I think that putting them on a silver chain makes the gold on the beads really pop.  I have a couple more left over, so I may just do some earrings to match tomorrow.
