We’ve had a fairly quiet summer for shows, but we just got a last-minute confirmation that we’re in the Stittsville Arts in the Park this Sunday!
You may recall that we were there last year, and it was a gorgeous, sunny day. There were loads of artisans, authors, and I’m very much looking forward to going again this year. If I’m lucky, I’ll be able to snag myself a spot next to the taco truck again. 🙂 Entry is free.
I don’t know about you guys, but this month has been CRAZY so far! There’s so many things to do, and all I want is to go hang out on a patio making shiny things with some friends.
I would probably drop all the beads and stones, and then spend the rest of the night trying to find a way under the patio. I fully fear losing tiny pieces of silver between wooden cracks.
Anyway, between all the stuff that gets the kids fed and the bills paid, we also hit a show last weekend! We were at the Bell Sensplex having a groovy time (before I took off to attend a wedding, leaving Robyn on her lonesome)
I’ve also decided to start wearing tiaras to shows! And maybe everywhere in everyday life.
We lucked out with 2 tables, which is good, cause it turns out we have a lot of pieces to show off!
And yet again we did a draw for a fabulous gift bag! Mango body butter, mango candle, mango sugar syrup (All the MANGO DRINKS!) and of course, something special from us!
Smells like Summer!
The shell bracelet is STUNNING and perfect for summer! It works so well with beachwear and patio nights.
Sweet, simple, and super fabulous!
We will be doing more draws! Keep checking in so you don’t miss your chance to win! Or, better yet, sign up for our new newsletter and get special secret discounts!
Can’t make it to a show? Host one of your own! We do Home Jewellery Parties! Perfect for a night in, or to start your night out!
We were at Ravenswing in Ottawa for their 10th anniversary! Ravenswing was amazing! Great vendors, lots of old friends, and lots of new ideas. Getting there was a little nuts, but it was all worth it!
We hid under our tent, in the ever-disappearing shade, and made the best of a beautiful, yet really freaking hot, day! It was an amazing time filled with music, amazing crafts and vendors, and some tasty handmade treats! We may or may not have devoured a bag of Maggie’s Shortbread
Braving the heat and have the best time!
We also gave away our first raffle prize! It featured a bit of sparkle, a bit of relaxation, and of course, a bit of beauty.
Will you be our next winner?!?
Then, last Saturday we were raffling of ANOTHER piece of jewellery, this one in support of getting a Buddy Bench for St John Paul II Elementary School.
Helping kids make friends? Is there anything jewellery can’t do?!?
Finally, THIS Saturday, June 11th, we’ll be at Heart Home and Handmade Indie Craft Fair. (Yes, we do have another prize give-a-way) This one is at the Bell Sensplex, 1565 Maple Grove Road, Ottawa. Come visit us from 10am to 4pm, and enter for your chance to win!
Have you subscribed to our newsletter yet? Cause you should! You’ll get updates about us and where we are, fun facts about shiny things we love, and secrete discount codes! Just look to the right of your screen and sign up!
Just one week from today, Trish and I will be celebrating a very special event: the Ravenswing Arts and Music Fair‘s 10th anniversary!
Way back in 2009, Roxy and I signed up for our very first craft fair: Ravenswing! We had a lot of fun, and it really got us hooked on doing craft fairs.
Since then, we’ve been at every Ravenswing fair except one. Drakestail has grown a lot as a company over the years, developing our style, our displays (that blue tablecloth!!), and our work. It has been wonderful to come back each year to Ravenswing as it has developed and grown as well. Every year the fair gets a bit bigger, runs a bit smoother, and the team organizing it continues to do an amazing job bringing together artisans, writers, musicians, workshops, and more. Despite the growth and change, all the best parts of Ravenswing persist – great music, a fantastically eclectic collection of vendors, and a great vibe. They also do important work hosting the Clothesline Project, a public art exhibit dedicated to raising awareness of violence against women and children, and giving voices to the survivors.
We’re very much looking forward to being at Minto Park again this year, especially for the 10th anniversary. Join us in celebrating this fantastic fair on Sunday, May 29th!
Spring has sprung, and then some! Roxy has been amazingly busy this spring with shows, and now it’s the Ottawa team’s opportunity to try and catch up with her.
Trish and I are lucky to have a great Ottawa show coming up twice! We will be participating in the Heart, Home, and Handmade show on this Sunday, May 15, and then again on June 11.
From the H3 website: “At Heart, Home & Handmade Shows, you will be able to shop for one of a kind goods and meet local makers. Our focus is on promoting and supporting small, independent local businesses with a unique, independent spirit.”
Admission for each event is $2 at the door, with proceeds are going to support Harmony House Women’s Shelter. As Ottawa’s only second-stage women’s shelter, they provide safe, affordable transitional housing for women and children who are survivors of violence.
Perhaps it is my love of fairy tales and all things mystical and magical but when I saw the add seeking sellers for this upcoming Winnipeg craft sale I simply could not resist sending in my application! I will be setting up shop for the day on Saturday May 7th with the lovely “fairy girls” and hope you will pop by and check out the event. Between 12:00 & 5:00 PM at 955 Mulvey Avenue in Winnipeg! This is your last chance to snag that perfect something for Mother’s Day 🙂
