One more hair accessory for today, another elastic, this time with champagne and gold 8mm pearls, with some clear crystal rounds. Neutral enough to go with almost anything, and something to add style to a basic ponytail.
Today’s item is yet another hair accessory. This time I’m blinging up a hair elastic. I started with some 8mm pale mint green pearls, and added some smoky grey and clear crystals. This little cluster will dress up a ponytail with some grown-up sparkle.
A long time ago (more than a year), I started making a pair of hair combs. They had sparkly rose-coloured irridescent crystals and ivory pearls, twisted into delicate branches and wrapped onto silver-plated combs. They were about 3/4 done, and then I lost them. I was heartbroken because a lot of work went into making them. I hunted and searched but they were nowhere to be found.
Fast forward to a week ago, I was hunting through an organizer (which is not organized at all, but has a lot of beads dumped in it to be sorted in the future) and found the combs! Since I was on a roll with hair accessories this week, today seemed like the perfect time to polish them off.
I seem to be thinking a lot about hair accessories this week, so I decided to make another set of wire-wrapped pearl bobby pins. These are using Swarovski pearls in Rosaline, a soft, light pink. The lighting in this photo isn’t the best – to see a more accurate colour of these pearls look at the cluster hair clip I made a couple days ago.
Since I had all my Swarovski pearls and my alligator clips out, I decided to make another hair clip. This one is another request from a friend, using light gold, white, and a random mix of colours in between.
This hair clip is one of a pair of hair clips that I’ll be making this week as a custom order for a dear friend. This one features Rosaline pink and white pearls, twisted on silver wire. These are rough on the fingertips, but are so cute that it’s totally worth it.
