One of the things I love about making jewellery is all the colour. Gemstones occur naturally in every colour of the rainbow, and manmade glass, crystal and other beads can be any colour imaginable. There’s a limitless palette to work with! Sometimes, though, I want something more neutral to wear.
The pendant on this necklace is charcoal jasper. This initially came as part of a mixed set that I bought off eBay, way back in the early days of my beading adventure, before even Drakestail existed. That bead mix included another charcoal jasper flower, which I used a while back to make a different necklace. Then it sat around for quite a while, looking pretty and waiting for me to be inspired. I decided to pair it with some oval beads called black line jasper, and it turned into a pretty monochromatic necklace!
