We had our (for real this time) last show of the season on Saturday! Zaphod’s in Ottawa hosted the Bizarre Bazaar and it was fun!
The lights were low, music was playing, everyone was relaxed and having a great time!
There were so many items you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else (and I don’t just mean us) There was vintage clothing, custom buttons, love maps, vinyl records turned into art, and our good friend Maiden Star.
I danced in the booth, finished my Christmas shopping, met some new people and caught up with old friends. This was a very fun and relaxed show!
Are you sorry you missed it? Rumour has it that there will be another show February 13th. It’ll be just in time to remember about Valentine’s Day.
Need your Drakestail Jewellery fix before then? Never fear! We’re still booking Home Jewellery Parties! We’ll set up a boutique your place, you’ll invite some friends, and we’ll all have a fabulous time!
This past Saturday we set up at Rideau High in Ottawa for their Crafts for Christmas fair!
There was a great variety of vendors and it was a wonderful fundraiser for the Rideau High Band!
Now, we thought this would be our last show of the season. But SURPRISE! We have one more Ottawa show left in us!
On Saturday, December 19th we will be at the Bizarre Bazaar pop up at Zaphod Beeblebrox, 27 York street in the Ottawa Market. We’re running 12pm to 5pm and the bar is open. There will be items and vendors you won’t find at anywhere else! Come do some last minute shopping without the craziness of the mall. It just might be the most relaxing 6-days-before-Christmas purchase you ever make!
And bring a donation for the Ottawa Food Bank, there will be a collection at the door.
Saturdays are my favourite! Last Saturday Robyn and I were at First Avenue Public School for their Holiday Craft Fair. They had an amazing snacks table, delicious lunch, crafts for the kids, tasty homemade marshmallows, and of course, us!
The Craft Fair had a surprise for us this week! An extra table was suddenly available. Luckily, we were ready for it. We grabbed our extra supplies and had it set up in no time!
Having two table was wonderful! We loved giving even more options to our guests, and having extra space to display the items we love.
Our next show is Crafts for Christmas at Rideau High School on Saturday, December 12th, 10am-2pm. It’s a fundraiser for the concert band, and a great place to cross off the “nice”s from your list and get a little something extra for yourself (hey, there’s parties to go to!) Can’t wait to see you there!
Trish and I had a great time at the Tudor Hall this past Sunday. The show had a great turn-out, and we got to meet and chat with lots of great new people. We shared our cozy table with Carolyn from Maidenstar, and it was great to have such a wide array of jewellery available.
It’s hard to believe we’re halfway through our festive appearances already. Next up is the First Avenue Holiday Craft Fair on November 28. Get a head start on your holiday shopping and browse the 30+ local artists and vendors. Entry is free and there will be activities for the kids as well as door prizes and home made goodies. This event is organized by the First Avenue School Council and all proceeds raised go to this organization. We would love to see you there!
Now that fall is upon us, we have some exciting upcoming events to tell you about. Drakestail Jewellery is participating in three craft shows this season. We hope you’re as excited as we are to browse the creations by some talented local artisans and artists.
Robyn will be at All Saints Catholic High School Craft & Gift Fair on Saturday, November 7. This is a huge show with a wide variety of local vendors. Admission is $1 or one non-perishable food item. Funds go toward the school Christmas hamper program as well as the support of grandmothers in Southern Africa, who are raising children orphaned due to the AIDS pandemic. The fair features over 100 tables of treasures handmade by crafters and artisans from Ontario and Western Quebec, a supervised child’s play area, cafe and raffle table.
Trish will be at Something New Edinburgh, also on November 7th. What happens when you combine a vibrant urban community, local artisans, and one-of-a-kind craftsmanship? Ottawa’s newest craft show – Something New Edinburgh – is born. Meet Trish and lots of other local artists and artisans at Memorial Hall (39 Dufferin Rd. at Mackay Street) Saturday November 7, 2015 10am-3pm. Admission is free.
Then, we will be teaming up with Carolyn of Maidenstar at Tudor Hall Christmas Craft & GIft Show on November 22. We will be among 60 fantastic vendors. There will be lots to see and some fantastic gift ideas. Admission is free and free parking is also available. This will be another new show for us and we can’t wait to check it out!
I can’t believe it’s already that time of the year: Christmas craft fair season! Summer seems like just yesterday, and Halloween is still around the corner. The year is flying by.
Drakestail Jewellery will be making its first seasonal craft fair appearance on Saturday, November 1st at the All Saints Catholic High School‘s annual Christmas craft fair. This is a big show, and I’m looking forward to being back again. There will be a great selection of artists and artisans. There will be a Children’s Corner, where kids can play while parents shop. There will also be a Coffee House and some terrific raffle prizes! Funds raised will go towards the school’s Christmas Hamper program.
Come on out and pick up some great handmade, unique items for your favourite people on your list, and yourself!
