Inspiration can come from anything. Mostly, I like to stare at my beads and stones until something clicks! Then too many things click and I have a list of projects to last for days.
Last week it all came to me in a pile of pinks and roses!
I’ve had the rose quartz for about a month, and the ceramic rose beads for almost a week. Then Robyn came calling and it was creation time, and well, everything struck right!
Now we have a fabulous little Pretty in Pink set. A combination of Rose Quartz, Crystal, Ceramic and Agate beads. They’re simple, classic and sweet. They make me think of garden parties, tea cups and petticoats!
Now I’m thinking i want to do more sets like this! Changing some stones and configurations has really opened up the style flexibility while keeping the same feel.
And some days you want your favourites, but simpler.
And these may have in turn inspired a couple kids pieces! Apparently there are some little girls out there who are *really* into pink shiny things.
Next is this raffle prize!
We’re raffling this patriotic necklace away on Canada Day! Enter to win at Meadowbrook Park in Ottawa from 11am-2pm!

I had an assistant on my last jewellery shoot! And by “assistant” I mean “someone who understood “help” to mean “do all the things! Be in charge! Now’s your chance!”
Which means I think somehow I became his assistant.
My 8 year old took hold of the camera, took 16 shots of up his nose, 6 pictures of the sky, 10 of me trying to get a bracelet on, and an experimental one through the wavy glass window.
I’m *really* glad this digital camera thing took hold.
Among the more “artistic” shots, there were some surprisingly good ones.
He was quick on the draw! How long does it take to set a necklace for a picture? At least 4 shots!
It’s a great feeling to get your kids involved in what you do. We had an awesome evening taking pictures, going over the shots, and choosing what to use. He’s pretty proud to get his stuff up on the internet (kids are easy to impress) Plus, now I have a helping hand! Next goal: to get him designing!
I don’t know about you guys, but this month has been CRAZY so far! There’s so many things to do, and all I want is to go hang out on a patio making shiny things with some friends.
I would probably drop all the beads and stones, and then spend the rest of the night trying to find a way under the patio. I fully fear losing tiny pieces of silver between wooden cracks.
Anyway, between all the stuff that gets the kids fed and the bills paid, we also hit a show last weekend! We were at the Bell Sensplex having a groovy time (before I took off to attend a wedding, leaving Robyn on her lonesome)
We lucked out with 2 tables, which is good, cause it turns out we have a lot of pieces to show off!
And yet again we did a draw for a fabulous gift bag! Mango body butter, mango candle, mango sugar syrup (All the MANGO DRINKS!) and of course, something special from us!
The shell bracelet is STUNNING and perfect for summer! It works so well with beachwear and patio nights.
We will be doing more draws! Keep checking in so you don’t miss your chance to win! Or, better yet, sign up for our new newsletter and get special secret discounts!
